(UEFA) Benrahma had a curling effort turned round the post early on, but West Ham were not destined for an easy night. The visitors took the lead shortly before half-time, with Tijjani Reijnders' powerful long-range effort squirming under the grasp of Alphonse Areola. The Hammers pressed for an equaliser in the second half, and were offered a golden opportunity when AZ goalkeeper Mathew Ryan collided with Jarrod Bowen in the box. Benrahma made no mistake with a powerful penalty to get the home team level. Not long afterwards, the hosts' turnaround was complete. After Nayef Aguerd's header from a corner was blocked on the line, Antonio reacted fastest to force in and complete a dramatic turnaround. (UEFA) The home side survived a scare as Jean-Kevin Augustin rounded Pietro Terracciano to put the ball into the net early on, he and team-mate Zeki Amdouni having strayed offside. Fiorentina responded by edging in front. Cristiano Biraghi's corner was headed back towards goal by Lucas Martínez Quarta and Arthur Cabral got a crucial extra touch against his former club to become the outright leading scorer in this season's competition with seven goals. On the back foot for much of the tie, Basel rallied with 19 minutes left when Andy Diouf collected a pass from goalkeeper Marwin Hitz and played a one-two with Taulant Xhaka before striding forward to deliver a composed low finish from the edge of the penalty area. With Fiorentina shaken, Amdouni capitalised in the closing moments. The Viola failed to clear Xhaka's free-kick and Darian Males set Amdouni up for a side-footed winner which leaves Basel one game away from becoming the first Swiss team to reach a major European final.

(UEFA Europa Conference League) West Ham are through to their first major European final since 1976, a late Pablo Fornals finish securing a 1-0 victory in the Netherlands to go with their 2-1 first-leg success in London. Following a tight opening 25 minutes, West Ham midfielder Lucas Paquetá cut inside a defender before curling an effort from just outside the box which struck the post. Denied openings before the break, AZ began to push forward in the second half in search of an aggregate equaliser but found it difficult to get past a resolute Hammers defence. Centre-back Pantelis Hatzidiakos had their best opportunity with a fierce shot from just inside the box, but goalkeeper Alphonse Areola was able to collect. Pascal Jansen's men upped the ante in the closing stages, but Fornals raced clear on the break and calmly slotted home to confirm David Moyes' side's place in the final in Prague.
Fiorentina had the better of the first half and took a deserved lead into the break after Nicolás González rose unmarked to head in Cristiano Biraghi's corner from close range. Basel have made a habit of comebacks in this competition and levelled after the restart. Andy Pelmard's free-kick found Zeki Amdouni and he cut inside Igor to score again; he has struck in six of his last seven knockout ties in the competition. Yet this time Fiorentina rallied and a second from González – a low finish with his left foot into the far corner – took the match into extra time, despite the Italian side's efforts to finish it inside 90 minutes. Luka Jović came on for the additional 30 minutes and missed two good opportunities – but Barák succeeded where his team-mate could not right at the end with a low finish past Marwin Hitz.

(The Guardian) AZ make official apology for Conference League troubleAZ Alkmaar have made an official apology for the behaviour of fans and the trouble that took place during Thursday’s Europa Conference League semi-final with West Ham. An AZ statement read: English statement: ‘Pitch black evening’ --While everyone hoped for a historic European match, it turned into a pitch black evening due to the events occurring at the referee’s final whistle. It turned into a night to reflect on with shame. Not because of the football game played, but because of the behaviour of some visitors. Unfortunately, we cannot use the word ‘supporters’ for these people.
What happened is beyond all bounds. The club again sincerely apologises to West Ham United and the thousands of well minded AZ supporters who have also been inconvenienced by the misconduct.
In the coming period AZ will – together with the police, Public Prosecution Service, and Alkmaar’s municipality – evaluate exactly what happened, how it could have happened and what needs to be improved from now on. It is clear that things need to be improved. Part of the evaluation is a thorough review of all available footage so that appropriate consequences may follow for those responsible for this outrageous behavior.
AZ is a civilised club where sportsmanship and norms and values are paramount. The club will do everything possible, together with the authorities involved, to identify these persons and to take appropriate measures.

(BBC Sport) West Ham ended their 43-year wait for a major trophy as Jarrod Bowen scored a last-minute goal to beat Fiorentina and win the Europa Conference League in Prague. The final seemed to be heading for extra time after Said Benrahma's second-half penalty was cancelled out just seven minutes later by a well-taken effort from Giacomo Bonaventura. It was a testy and sometimes bad tempered game - and at one point it got downright ugly as Fiorentina captain Cristiano Biraghi was struck by a plastic bottle thrown from the West Ham section. The match was settled in the most dramatic manner. Bowen timed his run to perfection as Lucas Paqueta slid a superb pass through the Fiorentina defence. The England man ran free, steadied himself, then beat Pietro Terracciano with a calm finish to thrill the Hammers fans - who were far greater in number than the 5,000 tickets they were allotted - and send manager David Moyes running down the touchline to celebrate the first major silverware of his career. It means captain Declan Rice, in probably his final game for the club, emulated club greats Bobby Moore and Billy Bonds by leading the club to glory. Moore captained West Ham to the 1965 European Cup Winners' Cup and Bonds led them to the FA Cup in 1975 and 1980. The victory also seals a place in next season's Europa League and means European football for the third year running for the first time in the club's history.
