(BBC Sport) Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp on making 10 changes: "Whatever team I select, there will be those who believe I have made too many changes and those who think I have not made enough. “As the players have shown already this season, they are prepared to work together and give everything no matter which names are on the back of our red shirts, so hopefully it will be exactly the same tonight.”

(BBC Sport) A six-goal thriller in 2021On 21 December 2021, tonight's exact fixture between Liverpool and Leicester City was played out. The Foxes travelled to Anfield for a League Cup clash - this time in the fifth round - that ended up seeing six goals scored in normal time. For the visitors, James Maddison grabbed one and Jamie Vardy got a brace, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Diogo Jota and Takumi Minamino were on the scoresheet for the hosts. Jota's goal came in the 68th minute, with Liverpool trailing 3-1, but Minamino struck in the dying moments to force extra time. Jurgen Klopp's men won on penalties in the end. Could we see an as enthralling encounter this evening?

(BBC Sport) Will Maresca mastermind a shock at Anfield? What a start Enzo Maresca has made to his managerial career at Leicester. The Foxes sit top of the Championship with seven wins out of eight. Maresca's playing career included a spell in the second-tier at West Brom as a teenager before joining Juventus. He also played in Spain and Greece. Will the Italian mastermind a shock at Anfield? Maresca said the tie at Anfield is a "nice game" for Leicester because of "the opponent and environment", and that it "cannot compare" to any of the league fixtures as the Foxes battle to return to the Premier League.

(BBC Sport) 'Leicester's response incredible'Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says he has been impressed with Leicester's response since the Foxes were relegated from the Premier League last season. Leicester, under new boss Enzo Maresca, sit top of the Championship table after dropping down on the final day of last season. "Their response has been incredible," writes Klopp in the match programme. "They are a Championship team right now of course and this is something they will want to change, but their form is more like a Premier League club so we should expect a proper test. "As someone who has experienced relegation in my career [boss of Mainz], I know just how big a challenge it is to respond in a positive way but Leicester are doing this and it speaks volumes for the work they are doing as a club and a team."

Well, this sucks...(BBC Sport) GOAL - Liverpool 0-1 Leicester Kasey McAteerWhat a start! The Championship leaders stun Anfield as 21-year-old Kasey McAteer keeps his composure to tuck the ball home in front of the Kop. It's far too easy for the Foxes. Terrible defending by Liverpool.

More frustration for Liverpool. Harvey Elliott goes for goal from a free-kick but it cannons into the wall. Eleven attempts for the Reds but Leicester lead.

(BBC Sport) This is a great game but Leicester are just about keeping Liverpool at bay as the Reds surge forward in search of an equaliser. Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota have both gone close, while Conor Coady has gone close to scoring an own goal attempting a clearance.
