Micah Richards, Former England defender on Sky Sports: Darwin Nunez is missing that final piece and it will come. I watched him at Benfica playing in the Champions League and know he has that end product so it will come. Liverpool are used to having [Sadio] Mane who was consistently scoring those chances. He is an absolute quality player and it's just a matter of time before they see the best of him.

Jamie Carragher, Former Liverpool defender on Sky Sports: Konate and Van Dijk is not the future for Liverpool, it is right now. They are Liverpool's best two centre-backs and Konate was very unlucky not to start the World Cup Final for France. Didier Deschamps went with [Dayot] Upamecano but Konate did very well every time he played for France. Him and Van Dijk right now is the best way that Liverpool can go.

(BBC Sport) Off we go at Brentford. An early yellow card for Mathias Jørgensen as he brings down Darwin Nunez, who had pounced on Ethan Pinnock to win the ball.Trent Alexander-Arnold curls it in and Liverpool win a corner.

(BBC Sport) It's a brilliant save from David Raya but the flag goes up for offside anyway. It wasn't by much but Virgil van Dijk had pulled away at the back post and volleyed it towards goal. He was only a few yards out and Raya flicked it over the bar with his outstretched leg.

(BBC Sport) As usual, it's a brilliant atmosphere in Brentford. They have a throw-in in Liverpool's half but it's comfortably dealt with.
Liverpool are controlling possession at the moment. Brentford clear a cross from Mohamed Salah but Ibrahima Konate heads the long ball down to Fabinho and they go again.

Micah Richards, Former England defender on Sky Sports: Brentford are absolutely buzzing. Liverpool held that ridiculously high line and Brentford exploited it. It's been really poor from Liverpool. I've been flabbergasted by the effort of Liverpool, there is no organisation, no concentration. I said before the game that I thought Liverpool were back to their best but they have been awful in that first half. Jamie Carragher, Former Liverpool defender on Sky Sports: It could have been anyone. Klopp could have made five changes, he had to do something. It will be interesting with the van Dijk change whether that is an injury or just a substitution. That was an unacceptable first 45 minutes from Liverpool.

There were two Brentford goals in the first 45 minutes of play.... --(Brentford 1-0) Brentford have taken the lead!
The corner comes in and Ben Mee is there to attack it but it comes off Liverpool's Ibrahima Konate, who could do nothing to stop it bouncing off his knee and beating Alisson.
There's a quick VAR check for handball but the goal stands. Well, well, well!
--(Brentford 2-0) After an earlier disallowed goal, this one will count!!!!
It's third-time lucky for Yoane Wissa. Mathias Jensen curls it into the box, Wissa heads it down and into the ground. It bounces up and beats Alisson, who tries desperately to claw it off the line but it had already gone over.
Liverpool are struggling massively at Brentford.

(BBC Sport) GOAL - Brentford 2-1 Liverpool -- Darwin Nunez (48 mins)Game on! Darwin Nunez creeps in behind Ethan Pinnock and races through on goal. It's an excellent finish as he chips it over David Raya and runs off in celebration. He's been desperate for that goal. VAR - DISALLOWED GOAL Brentford 2-0 LiverpoolUh-oh. No goal. It's ruled out for offside after a fairly quick VAR check. Brentford retain their two-goal lead. GOAL - Brentford 2-1 Liverpool -- Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (50 mins)Take two! It's a lovely cross from Trent Alexander-Arnold, on his left foot, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain heads it in. That one won't get ruled out. It's officially game on. liverpool scarf-1

(The Guardian) 52 min: Trent Alexander-Arnold slings another cross into the Brentford penalty area, this time with his right foot. His delivery is too close to David Raya, who gathers with a minimum of fuss.
54 min: Brentford win another throw-in deep in Liverpool territory. With everyone expecting another long effort from Matthias Jensen, he plays it short and his side win a corner. The ball’s played to the far post, where Ben Mee heads it back across the face of goal. Liverpool clear their lines.
